Samantha Moore is an animated documentary maker. She studied at fine art, english literature and film at Exeter University and Central Saint Martins School of Art. After graduating she was selected for Channel 4’s AIR scheme and subsequently made Glasgow Kiss for Ch4, an oil on glass piece. She then went on to make Success with Sweet Peas (winner of a Melbourne International audience award and nominated for a British Animation Award) and doubled up which was an animate! commission for Channel 4 and Arts Council England. In 2007 she made The Beloved Ones through Netherlands based Sapiens Productions for the UK Film Council and Screen WM, which won a special mention by the grand jury at Animafest in Zagreb in 2008 and has been screened internationally (including Aspen Shortsfest 08, Goteborg International Film Festival 09 and Tricky Women Vienna 09). She was commissioned to make a film for the Wellcome Trust about synaesthesia based on her work with Dr Jamie Ward called An Eyeful of Sound (in production, completion date September 2009).
