OSBERT PARKER - director biography 1984 Diploma in Graphic Design at Berkshire College of Art & Design. First animated film, 'The Biz' highly commended at D&AD Film + TV student bursary. Screened at The Cambridge Animation Festival + The Los Angeles Film Festival in 1985. 1988 BA Honours in Graphic Design at Middlesex Polytechnic. Animated graduation film, 'Clothes' went onto win 'the best original concept in animation' at The BAA British Animation Awards. BAFTA nominated for best short animated film in 1988. Annecy, Sydney Film Festival, Bristol and The London Film Festival selected it as an outstanding film in 1989. Created animations for The South Bank Show titles. Directed title sequences for Janet Street-Porter, Ruby Wax, Clive Anderson and award winning animated commercials for Gatorade, Nike, MTV, Budweiser, WWF and Coca-Cola. 1995 Guest speaker at the Monterey TED6 conference. 1997 main stage speaker AIGA Design conference. 1991 Jury member animate! tv scheme. 1998 Jury member British Animation Awards. 2001 Jury member British Environment + Media Awards. 2nd unit Director on Hallmarks TV feature film Arabian Nights dir. Steve Barron. 2004-5 Talks & workshops on experimental animation at the NFTS & RCA. 2005 FILM NOIR screened at this years 49th London Film Festival. 2006 FILM NOIR BAFTA nominated for best short animated film. FILM NOIR nomination Best short animated film at the British Animation . Awards 2006. 2006 Cannes official selection for best short film in competition. Best Experimental Short: Worldwide Short Film Festival 2006 Best UK Short Film: Raindance 2006 Best Animated Short Film: Athens (Ohio) International Film Festival Best Pioneering Film Award: San Francisco International Short Film festival Grand Prize for best Experimental Film: Rhode Island International Film Festival JURY PRIZE: Ismailia International Film Festival GOLD Remi Winner: WorldFest-Houston USA 2006. Also selected for competition in the 2006 Atlanta, Palm Springs, LA and Melbourne International Film Festivals.
