Giuliana Monteiro

BIOGRAPHIE

Giuliana Monteiro is a Brazilian filmmaker who lives between São Paulo and NYC. She received her MFA in Filmmaking at the New York University, Tisch School of the Arts with a BAFTA and AAUW International fellowship. Her latest award-winning short film, "I Don't Say Goodbye. I Say See You Soon" premiered at the 64th Berlinale and traveled to more than 30 International film festivals, winning best short film at the Vina del Mar International Film Festival and best screenplay at the First Run Film Festival. She is working on her first feature film “After the mud dries” (Depois que a lama seca). The project was selected to participate in the Co-production Forum at the San Sebastian International Film Festival (2016); at the Toronto International Film Lab (2018), and at the Cinequanon Screenwriters Lab (2020). The project won the Spike Lee Development grant and the SFFILM/Rainin screenwriting grant in 2020.
