"Born in Manaus, Sergio Andrade is a director, screenwriter, and producer. He has participated in TV and Cinema productions in the Amazon, including ""The Motorcycle Diaries"" by Walter Salles Jr. and ""A Festa da Menina Morta"" by Matheus Nachtergaele. His short films received several awards and were selected in festivals such as Brasília, Clermont-Ferrand, Tiradentes, Toulouse, Miami, Recife, Barcelona, among others. His first feature, “Jonathas' Forest” (2012) was selected to festivals in Rio, Rotterdam, Taipei, Curitiba, Prague, Scottsdale, 3 Continents Nantes and Kerala, among others, before being licensed worldwide by HBO. His second feature, ""Time Was Endless"" (2016), premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2016 and was awarded as best film at the Queer Lisboa and Vitória Festivals. ""Kawa,"", from 2019, is his third feature film and is currently doing the rounds at the festival circuit, including stops at the competition of the Festival do Rio, Mostra de São Paulo and the Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Salerno. ""Surroundings/Cats"" (2021) is his first short film in more than a decade and his first documentary."
