A professional actor and fine art graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts, filmmaking represents the ideal opportunity for Alan, to amalgamate the two disciplines. With a passion for avant-garde storytelling, Alan often performs multiple roles on his projects and his bold and distinctive works have played throughout the world. His 2019 short film 'Wild Will', world premiered in the Lab Competition at the Clermont-Ferrand Int'l Short Film Festival and was selected in competition at both the FIAPF accredited, Tampere and Tallinn Black Nights Film Festivals, screening as a part of the latter's cutting edge 'Rebels With A Cause' competition. Awards for the film include the Jury Award for 'Innovation in Form' at the Brisbane Int'l Film Festival and 'Best Experimental Film' at the Castrovillari Int'l Film Festival. In their year-end review, 'Wild Will' was listed by French cinematic publication Ecran Noir as one of their top-ten must see foreign short films of 2019. Following 'Wild Will', 'No Harm In Dreaming' is Alan's second instalment in a planned trilogy of short films, exploring the internal human dance between chaos and control.
