Ashlee’s short film The Kiss had its international premiere at Busan, and screened in competition at Tribeca, Clermont-Ferrand and Palm Springs just to name a few. Her short film work has won awards from the Australian Film Institute, the Australian Directors Guild, Sydney Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Flickerfest and many more. She is a recipient of the Sundance Institute Global Filmmaking Award and Screenwriting Fellowship. Her writing and directing contributed to the compendium feature film The Turning which premiered at the Berlin Film festival. She shares her time between writing, directing and being a film educator. After The Flood is Ashlee’s first time directing a film shot entirely in a LED Volume with backgrounds generated in Unreal 5. Ashlee chose to embrace this emerging technology making a post-apocalyptic short that explores the human condition in a world in decline.
