André Novais Oliveira

BIOGRAPHIE

André Novais Oliveira (born July 13, 1984) is a Brazilian filmmaker. He has directed two feature films, including the Cineasti del Presente entry "Temporada", from Locarno 2018 (the film went on to win the Best Actress award in Torino, the Audience Award in Belfort, and was released to rave reviews in France). His short films include the Cannes Directors' Fortnight selected "About a Month" (Special Jury Prize in 2013) and "Backyard", from 2015, and also his seminal work "Ghosts", 2010, recently elected as the most important and influential Brazilian short film of the decade. André is currently developing his third feature film, the Hubert Bals Fund winning project "If I Was Alive", a Brazil-Portugal-Germany-The Netherlands co-production.
