BIOGRAPHIE

Kris Ong is a Golden Horse-nominated writer/director known for her moving and sensitive stories about complex, unusual human relationships. Her short films and music videos have collectively screened at over 30 international film festivals. Her short film "Sunday," had its world premiere at the Palm Springs International ShortFest 2019. She is an alumnus of Sundance Intensive Asia, Singapore International Film Festival’s Southeast Asian Film Lab, and Yamagata Documentary Dojo. Most recently she was the co-writer on "Ajoomma" (2022), directed by He Shuming and executive produced by Anthony Chen. The film premiered at Busan International Film Festival, and was nominated for four Golden Horse Awards, including Best Screenplay for Shuming and Kris. Kris is also the co-founder of the film and television company Momo Film Co alongside producer Tan Si En. The company works closely with emerging and established filmmakers from Southeast Asia to tell scripted original stories for a global audience.
