BIOGRAPHIE

Filmmaker Stéphane Gérard’s experimental cinema focuses on political struggles and the history of representations of gender, sexual orientation, HIV/AIDS, and Afro-descendant communities. His collaboration with filmmaker Lionel Soukaz has resulted in two co-directed works for exhibitions (En Corps +, 2021, Mucem; Artistes en Zone Troublée, 2023, Palais de Tokyo), contributing to a broader reflection on the preservation of audiovisual archives (for example, at the Bibliothèque nationale de France). His practice also encompasses programming and distribution within What’s Your Flavor?, a collective dedicated to the dissemination of queer experimental cinema in France.
