Nitzan Rozenbeg

BIOGRAPHIE

Nitzan Rozen is a film writer and director. She was born in Jerusalem in 1990, and grew up in Kfar Warburg, a village in the south of Israel. Nitzan was a student of the Sam Spiegel film school in Jerusalem, from which she graduated with honours in 2017. Over the course of her studies, Nitzan directed two short films, Fair Play, 2016 and Cracks, 2018, the first of which was granted the Sam Spiegel directing award. The films were screened in Israel and in festivals in Europe and North America (the latter premiered in FNC Montreal in 2018). A year later, Nitzan directed a short documentary, Home Constructors, 2019. The film was selected to be shown at a variety of festivals, including Cinemed Montpellier, Dresden Filmfest, Uppsala Short Film Festival, FNC Montreal, Asiatica Rome, Haifa Film Festival, Cinema South Film Festival, Other Israel Film Festival NY, and many more. In 2021, Nitzan wrote, directed and independently produced her fourth short film, Fata Moraga (not yet released). Nowadays Nitzan works on her first feature film, The Football Player, currently in development, produced by Ronen Ben-Tal from PlanB Productions (ISL) and Morgane Le Moine from First Love Productions (FR). The film was awarded the writing grant of The Rabinovich Foundation for The Arts in 2020. Nitzan works as a documentary director at the national TV digital channel in Arabic and Hebrew (Kan 11) , and teaches film at Alon High School of Fine Arts.
