Frédéric Schuld

BIOGRAPHIE

Frédéric Schuld is a writer and director. He initially worked as a freelance graphic designer and art director for advertising agencies before studying film at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. In 2015 he co-founded the studio Fabian&Fred with Fabian Driehorst. Together they were scholars- hip holders of the Wim Wenders Foundation and Gerd Ruge. Since then he has been involved in a variety of animated fiction and documentary films. His award-winning short films Carlotta‘s Face and The Chimney Swift have won several awards and both qualified for the Oscars. He co- wrote and directed the animation on the documentary Lost in Face by Valentin Riedl in 2020, which won the German Documentary Award, Audience Award at Max Ophüls Preis and also qualified for the documentary Oscars 2021. He’s currently co-directing an animated documentary with Rebecca Blöcher and developing the animation feature Struwwel.
