Yusuke Sakakibara

BIOGRAPHIE

Yusuke Sakakibara, born June 30th, 1986, is an ambassador to his hometown of Tokai, Aichi. In 2013, the first film he directed, "Heion na Hibi, Kiseki no Hi," received a nomination at "Short Short Film Festival & Asia 2014," the largest international film festival in Asia for short films. The lead role was played by Kasumi Arimura who was awarded the Best Actress Award. In 2016, the documentary film "Baile Tokyo," that followed FC Tokyo in the J League for the 2015 season, was released nationwide. The feature film "Shiori" that premiered in 2018 was officially exhibited at the Beijing International Film Festival, and at the Kinoyayo Modern Japan Film Festival held in Paris, it was awarded the Idem Best Film Award among over 300 Japanese films that premiered in 2018. The short film "Seaglass" that premiered in 2019 was awarded the "Hikari TV Award" at Short Short Film Festival & Asia 2019. In 2020, he produced a new feature length documentary film that will premiere in autumn 2021.
