BIOGRAPHIE

Stephanos Minoglou was born in Athens, Greece in 1989. In 2012, he graduated with an MS in Physical Sciences from the University of Chicago. Since then he has studied and analysed complete filmographies whilst directing fiction for cinema inspired by classical literature, philosophy & opera, always writing feature and short length screenplays on the side. After directing two short films he studied and graduated with distinction from the London Film Academy in 2018, where he directed his third short film Embers (2018). The "Ruins of Athens" is inspired by Lawrence Durrell's Alexandria Quartet, and is a study on modern love, with backdrop the ruins of Ancient and Modern Greece. He is currently developing the script of his first feature film. His short films have been awarded and screened at international film festivals, including Thessaloniki International Short Film Festival, CineYouth: Chicago International Film Festival and Shorts on Tap.
