Mariana Cobra

BIOGRAPHIE

Mariana Cobra is a film director based in São Paulo, Brasil. Multi-artist she is also screenwriter, photographer, cinematographer and creative mind. Her work captures real life from a magical yet realistic perspective, always working to achieve an innovative style and always portraying feminist issues. Her first shortfilm "The Regret" was selected to Mongolia International Film Festival, 32nd Berlin International Shortfilm Festival, Seoul International New Media Festival, Feminist Biennale of Seoul, among others. Her second shortfilm "Lucía's tale", a fiction narrative shot in Uruguay, is currently starting distribution in festivals. Indeed, her feature fiction script "Lucía and the swimming pool" won a fund for development from the Brazilian Agency of Cinema in 2018 (FSA). Her first feature documentary OUR blood OUR body, was released in august 2018 by FOX Latin America and nominated for the 8th International Emmy Kids Awards. DIVINAS is her published analog photo series project dedicated to empower latin american women through their bodies confidence featured in magazines and newspapers around the region, such as Estadão, El País, Tpm, Cosmopolitan. Currently the project is being developed as an audiovisual documentary that has been around markets in the region such as DOCSP, CHILE DOC, also selected for the series lab at DOCMONTEVIDEO in 2019.
