Stefano Malchiodi

BIOGRAPHIE

Stefano Malchiodi was born in Seriate, in the province of Bergamo, on 20 May 1991. After high school, he enrolled in the film production course at the Luchino Visconti Civic School of Cinema in Milan, where he graduated in 2014 with a thesis on independent cinema. From January 2015 to December 2017, he attended and graduated the editing course at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. During this period, he cultivated a passion for the creative possibilities of repertoire cinema, and in November 2015 he won the "Il gusto della memoria" festival, based on the narrative re-use of archive footage in super8, with the short Viaggio in cosciente. Between 2016 and 2017 he worked on other experimental short films. Between 2018 and 2019 he co-directed Anne, produced by Anemone Film and 10D film with Domenico Croce. It was first selected at the 2019 Giffoni Film Festival in the "Parental control" section, and then won "Best short" at the XV edition of Cortinametraggio (in addition to the "Rai Cinema Channel RaiPlay" and "Anec-Fice") in March 2020. Anne also won the "Best short" award at the 2021 Fano Film Festival and the "Young for young" award at Visioni Italiane 2021. In 2021, he shot his latest short film, Cinquemarzo, produced by Anemone Film, 10D Film and Amartia Film, completed in the summer of 2022. At this time, an animated short film called Flight of the Seagull is in pre-production.
