Dimitris Tsakaleas

BIOGRAPHIE

Dimitris Tsakaleas and Lida Vartzioti are a directing duo. Their short films have travelled and awarded to film festivals across the world like Karlovy Vary: Future Frames, Sarajevo IFF, Palm Springs ShortFest, Cairo IFF, Thessaloniki IFF, Trieste IFF, Drama IFF, etc and have screened on Directors Note and Cinobo. They have just finished their next short film "Mermaids" (produced by Atalante Productions S.A.), which has been financially supported by the Greek Film Centre & COSMOTE TV. It was also part of the TSFM Word-Frame Workshop in Cyprus ISFF. They are in the process of financing their first feature film, “Friends, Birthdays, Murder, etc”, which has been financially supported by the Greek Film Centre and ERT S.A. and was awarded the CNC Award in the Crossroads Co - Production Forum of the 64th TIFF. They are graduates of School of Film, Faculty of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Stavros Niarchos Artworks Fellows, Sarajevo and Berlinale Talents Campuses Alumni. They are part of CINOBO's Big Shorts (New Generation of Greek Cinema), the most well known VOD Greek Platform.
