BIOGRAPHIE

SONNY CALVENTO is a director, writer and producer. He was a fellow of the 2019 Bucheon International Fantastic Film School and the 2018 Hanoi International Film Festival Directing and Producing Studio where he was awarded Best Talent in Directing and Producing. He is a recipient of the 2017 Philippine Daily Inquirer IndieBravo Awards and the Harvest of Honor Award from the National Commission of Culture and the Arts. In 2019, he produced JOHN DENVER TRENDING, a film that won Best Film, NETPAC Jury Award, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Musical Score in Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival in the Philippines. The film competed in the New Currents Section of the Busan International Film Festival and will compete at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. EXCUSE ME MISS, MISS, MISS is his first short film.
