William Kim and Willy Hajli have been working as a directing duo for nearly a year. In 2018, Willy directed and produced his first short-film, 'Tenha Um Ótimo Dia’ which won the Audience Favorite Award at São Paulo Int. Film Festival, his hometown. William studied cinema and psychology at Columbia University while working with ads and media. In order to be able to create their own film projects, they’ve founded a production company called Moonheist Pictures. The Nautilus is the duo’s directorial short-film debut, they believe in a cinema that is most truthful at its most fictional. A cinema where invented persons reveal unspoken truths of the human psyche and where fantastic elements are superimposed upon naturalist scenarios. In brief, they believe in what Herzog once called “the ecstatic truth” of cinema.
