BIOGRAPHIE

Julian Dieterich (*1996) lives and works as a freelance filmmaker in Berlin. After spending time abroad and working as a 2nd assistant director, he has been studying directing at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF since 2016. During his studies he made the films MÄANDER and HEDON. The short documentary THE VOID INSIDE deals with illegal organ trafficking in Iran and is currently showing successfully at festivals worldwide (Hofer Filmtage / AISFF Seoul / ShortFest Palm Springs). REIZSTOFF is Julian's fictional graduation film and deals with emotional abuse in a daughter-mother relationship. At the core of his work is often the tension between conscious and unconscious loss of control. Julian Dieterich (*1996) lebt und arbeitet als freischaffender Filmemacher in Berlin. Nach Auslandsaufenthalten und Arbeit als 2. Regieassistenz studiert er seit 2016 Regie an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. Im Studium entsteht die Filme MÄANDER und HEDON. Der kurze Dokumentarfilm THE VOID INSIDE beschäftigt sich mit illegalem Organhandel im Iran und läuft aktuell erfolgreich auf Festivals weltweit (Hofer Filmtage / AISFF Seoul / ShortFest Palm Springs). REIZSTOFF ist Julians fiktionaler Abschlussfilm und behandelt emotionalen Missbrauch in einer Tochter-Mutter-Beziehung. Im Kern seiner Arbeit steht häufig das Spannungsfeld zwischen bewusstem und unbewusstem Kontrollverlust.
