Jared has broad experience across media production and distribution. He studied Film at the University of Warwick (BA Honours), and is currently working in rights management at Fremantle (having previously done so at Vice, the British Film Institute, and Tinopolis). Jared’s wide background mirrors his interest blending genre, form, and topical subjects. In 2016 he edited 'Stalkers', which won Best Micro Short at the BFI Future Film Festival and was shortlisted at TIFFxInstagram (Toronto International Film Festival). His short, 'Hey You', featured in the BAFTA-qualifying 2019 Iris Prize Best of British shortlist, and received awards from IMDb FilmBath, Pink Apple, QUEER-Streifen, and Sunday Shorts Film Festival among others. It debuted online in Attitude Magazine, and was recently the subject of Micro Queers, a podcast by the Bloody Disgusting network. In 2020 he produced ‘Steelers’, a feature-length documentary about the world's first gay rugby union team, which showed to acclaim at multiple international festivals (including BFI Flare, New Zealand International Film Festival, Glasgow Film Festival, Boston Globe’s GlobeDocs), and received coverage in The Guardian, BBC, The Times etc. It is available to stream in the UK on Amazon Prime. His following short, 'The Rape Clause', which examines controversial UK government policy, was selected for the Oscar-qualifying Galway 2022 Galway Film Fleadh, and has received awards from Kino London Short Film Festival and Womxnchester International Film Festival. His upcoming short (produced by Polari Creative), 'The Stranger's Subject', is currently in post production, and is scheduled for release later in 2023.
