BIOGRAPHIE

Abhiroop Basu, an alumni of the prestigious Prague Film School (Czech Republic), is an award winning director and screenwriter based in Calcutta. His dialogue-less short film ‘Meal’ starring Adil Hussain played over 60 film festivals worldwide, won multiple awards and was the only Indian entry at the 44th Oscar qualifying Odense International Film Festival in Denmark. His next short film ‘Laali,’ starring Pankaj Tripathi, premiered at the Dharamshala International Film Festival amidst rave reviews. The film played at over 20 international film festivals and is currently streaming on Disneyplus Hotstar. Abhiroop returned to Odense with his third short film, “Gudiya.” He recently completed a dark comedic short film, “Rhino Charge,” starring Geetanjali Kulkarni and is presently developing his debut feature with a leading production house in Mumbai among other projects.
