Mahmood Pouyandeh

BIOGRAPHIE

Mahmood Pouyandeh started his professional activities in cinema in 2017 by taking screenwriting courses in Karnameh, Cinema and Art Collage and completed courses, from elementary to advanced levels, with flying colors. Pouyandeh’s high motivation and interest in cinema pushed him to part in filmmaking courses in Iranian Youth Cinema Society (Tehran Office) in 2019 as well and since then he has been attending theoretical and practical courses in filmmaking in an academic environment. Furthermore, he was chosen as the top talent in the master classes conducted by Asghar Farhadi, Behnam Behzadi, Hayedeh Safiyar, and Farnoush Samadi and sent to Linz International Festival, Austria, in 2018 where his short movie “The Final Frame” was featured in the category of experimental films. Subsequently, “The Final Frame” was shortlisted in the 10th Independent Ceremony of the Iranian Best Short Film of the Year. During 2019 and 2020, he took part in Nostalgia Film Festival (Milan), Arlington International Film Festival (U.S.), Reading Film Fest (U.S.), and many others with his short movie “LIKE A LADY”, that is also among the finalists in the 11th Independent Ceremony of the Iranian Short Film Academy Award (ISFA).
