Tanvi Chowdhary

BIOGRAPHIE

Born and raised in Calcutta, Tanvi earned her BFA in Film from the Srishti School of Art and Design in Bangalore, India. Her graduation film, Binimoy, was written, directed and edited by her and has travelled across several festivals around the world, like CoSAFF. The short film Madhu, which she wrote the screenplay of, and co-directed with her brother, is currently doing its rounds at the most prestigious film festivals of the world, including IFFR, MoMA (New York), Palm Springs Short Fest (LA), and various others, winning awards as well. Tanvi seeks to explore and tell stories about human dynamics, identity and gender through her personal art work. She co-founded the film production house, Peru, and is currently pursuing her masters in film direction at the NFTS, UK. She is also developing a coming-of-age/ romance feature film based around characters living in Calcutta and the Sunderbans mangrove forests.
