Moe Najati is an award-winning director of documentary, fiction, and commercial films. Moe has a unique eye for light and colour and an ability to capture the less-seen beauty of the world around him. His recent film Uproar, following a band of female Cuban musicians from the slums of Havana, premiered at the Academy and BAFTA qualifying Sheffield Doc/Fest in 2020 and continues its festival run. Prior to Uproar, Moe’s short documentary Daghwah, exploring a traditional fishing practice that has been passed down through generations, screened at multiple festivals all over the world. After premiering at The American Documentary Film Festival the film also played at the Madrid International Film Festival and the Academy qualifying Athens International Film and Video Festival. In 2016, Moe directed Welcome to My House, a documentary music video for the Seattle-based band, Luc and The Lovingtons. Executive produced by singer-songwriter Jason Mraz, the music video was nominated for Best Independent Music Video at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards. Moe is passionate about making work that speaks to people in a relatable and engaging way, exploring themes that are timely and thought-provoking, constantly striving to uncover the hidden stories of the world. Commercially, Moe has directed films and branded content for high profile brands such as Cadillac, Lenovo, Alfa Romeo, Red Bull, and Canon. He is currently based in London and works on a diverse collection of projects.
