BIOGRAPHIE

IAN CAPILLÉ is a filmmaker and editor. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he currently lives in Lisbon, where he is developing a master's degree on realism and ghosts in cinema, under the guidance of Susana de Sousa Dias. He edited films by directors such as Maria Clara Escobar, Leonardo Mouramateus, Diogo Baldaia, Helena Estrela, Francisca Manuel, Yuri Firmeza, and Gabriela Giffoni. His short films were shown in many festivals, mainly in Brazil, and won some awards. He is one of the founders of ¼ Escuro, a collective of filmmakers for learning and working with film and artisanal analogue cinema, and a member of CORTE-Portuguese Association of Cinema Editors. He likes dogs and long walks.
