BIOGRAPHIE

SAMUEL CHALELA PUCCINI (Bogotá, 1991) is a Colombian/Italian filmmaker based in Berlin. After making first short films and working as Assistant Director and Script Analist in his hometown between 2009 and 2013, he studied Scriptwriting at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin (dffb) from 2015 until 2019, where he attended seminars and workshops by directors such as Lucrecia Martel, Apichatpong Weerasethakul or Michael Haneke. Since 2019 he has been active as screenwriter, director and videoartist. Packed with absurdity, irony and emotional turns, his films combine genres such as drama, comedy and satire. He is currently working on his first feature, ‘FE’, which was awarded the Development Grant by the Colombian National Film Fund (FDC). His short-film AKZIDENS (Accident) is currently being developed into a feature film with the Development Fund by the VG-Wort.
