Albert Morel was born in 1991 and raised in Copenhagen and North Zealand. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from the University of Copenhagen in 2019 and graduated from the acclaimed, independent film school Super16 in 2022 with the graduation film Screened off. Albert has worked with themes such as internet culture, modern family structures and performance culture at workplaces. A recurring theme has also been characters inability to connect with their immediate surroundings and the greater world outside, and a subsequent feeling of deprivation from basic needs such as love, meaningful social relations and personal autonomy. Though Albert uses realism as a strict, specific starting point, he often seeks the abstract, irrational and surreal within reality. Through this synergy he attempts to create an authentic and transcending cinematic experience. Currently Albert is writing on his debut feature film. His midterm film Puppy Love was selected for The Danish Competition at the Odense International Film Festival in 2022.
