Colombian filmmaker with 20 years of experience in documentary film, tv production and movies. He has designed documentary series for channels as Señal Colombia, Telesur and Canal Encuentro (Argentina). Banderas en Marte (Flags in Mars, Señal Colombia, 2005) won the Maeda Prize of NHK as the best youth documentary serie. In 2009 he designed and directed Tango for Canal Encuentro (Argentina), a serie conduced by Horacio Ferrer, the great tango poet. Between 2009 and 2011 he directed 12 documentaries for the serie Maestra Vida (Master Life, Telesur), he made documentaries about tango poet Horacio Ferrer, mother of Plaza de Mayo Hebe de Bonafini, and writers as Hernán Rivera Letelier and Mempo Giardinelli. Between 2012 and 2014 he directed the documentarie serie Causa Justa, conduced by colombian human rights activist Piedad Córdoba. On june 2014, he directed the documentary section for the tv show De Zurda, with Diego Armando Maradona. Mendez´ first featured film is El Décimo Infierno (The tenth circle,2009). In 2018 he worked again with Diego Maradona in Rusia World Cup, directing the tv show De la Mano del Diez, starting by Maradona and the journalist Victor Hugo Morales. Finally, Mendez has directed the featured documentary films La Paz Difunta (Deceased Peace), Señal Colombia-Crisálida Project, 2018; Andakí, camino de vida (Andakí, path of life), Colciencias, 2017, and Aquí se Nace (We were born here), Señal Colombia, Crisálida Project, 2012.
