Hailing from Belfast and Bristol respectively, the pair founded the Northern Ireland based production company Floodlight Pictures in 2019, having worked previously as a writing partnership since 2017. The original script for An Irish Goodbye was the inaugural winner of the First Flights Short Film Fund from UK production company Goldfinch, and later received development support from film board Northern Ireland Screen. In the last year, the duo have been selected for the BBC Writersoom’s ‘Belfast Voices’ cohort and the Mammoth Screen NI Writers Award, with their debut film also screening at a number of Oscar and BAFTA qualifying festivals including Palm Springs, Bolton, Rhode Island, LA Shorts, Vancouver and Santa Barbara International Film Festivals. Their early work in theatre laid the foundations for their writing dynamic, with their early plays recognised by the Kenneth Branagh Award for Drama Writing, Papatango Prize and the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting.
