Naoki Matsuura

BIOGRAPHIE

Naoki Mastsuura, born March 24th, 1982 in Tokyo, lives in Tokyo. He graduated with a degree in film studies from Musashino Art University in 2006. He is a member of the Japan Animation Association. After mainly working as a production assistant for film and animation production companies including Polygon Pictures, Production IG, and Robot, he started working independently. At Production IG, he worked as a production assistant on location for the theatrically released film "The Sky Crawlers" (2008) directed by Mamoru Oshii. After becoming independent, the "Marukome Miso animated commercials" he worked on as an animation director were viewed over 2 million times. Currently, he is doing work as an animation director, director, and animation screenwriter. He works on videos and animated productions from a wide range of media including television series, commercials, music videos, and exhibition and event videos. His main area of expertise is with production, direction, and storyboarding. At Milan Expo 2015, he was responsible as the animation director, and he was awarded first place. In 2016, he launched a project for the original short animated film "Fire Craft," and one part of the production funding was provided from crowdfunding ¥1.74 million. It was completed in January 2021.
