Katia Franco was born in Turin on 7 August 1974. She graduated from the high school for the arts and continued her studies at the University of Turin in the Faculty of Modern Literature, History of Art, and Cinema. Her great passion for art drew her to dedicate herself to the form that represents and encompasses all the arts: cinema. Over the years she has collaborated with leading Italian directors. In her career she has held top positions in the Direction and Production Departments, up to the present, when she now devotes herself entirely to the organization of films and TV series (Baaria, Gomorrah the series, Suburra the film and the series, L’immortale to name a few). During the lockdown Katia and her husband, Matteo De Laurentiis, try their hand at directing their first film, entitled Er còllera mòribbus – conversazione all’osteria di piazza della Gensola, a four-handed work that embodies their moving tribute to Rome.
