BIOGRAPHIE

Shema Deve is a Rwandan film director and Producer. He attended several screenwriting and producing workshops such as Maisha Film Lab in Kigali and Haile Gerima 2017 directing workshop in Luxor- Egypt and is an alumni of Talents Durban 2019. His short films Running (2016) and Disconnected (2018) were shown in festivals around the world such as Durban International film festival in South Africa, Focus on Ability in Australia, New Filmmakers in Los Angeles, Mashariki African film festival in Kigali, Cefalu film festival in Italy, online market of Clermont Ferrand and many more. His new short documentary “Lake Women” selected in Pan African film festival 2021 and won an Audience Favorite Award Short at Roxbury international film festival 2021-USA. And he is developing a new documentary “Utazwi/unknown”. He is also producing 5 different films both fictions and documentaries including a fiction “Black widow” which he presented in Durban talent 2019 and Film festival Cologne 2019, a short film “Breaking the silence” which is post production, a documentary” Kinema” which selected in Takmil post-production workshop competition of Carthage Film Festival 2020, “Through the Unforeseen Wind” and “Tears” which he pitched in Ouaga producers lab 2020 and won a development support.
