BIOGRAPHIE

Ben Basem is a documentary filmmaker, sound artist, piano technician, and hoosier. His art blends fiction and reality to better understand the identities of his friends and family. Most recently, Ben explored his mother’s profession and Puerto Rican heritage in his directorial debut, Conversations Between Shifts. What drives Ben to tell people’s stories is the hope that someone might experience a similar gravitation towards Ben’s subjects, and through that reflect on the role one plays in one’s own life.
