BIOGRAPHIE

Janya Cambronero Severin is a Swedish/Costa Rican actress and director. She was born in Uppsala, Sweden, and grew up in Uppsala as well as San Jose, Barcelona and Managua. Janya was raised bilingual, speaking Swedish and Spanish. She co-founded and runs a theatre organization in Sweden, Teater Aros, established 2009. She's been acting and directing in theatre her whole grown up life, and started with film in 2018. Creating a safe space where actors can explore their work and their characters, whether for stage or film, is an ongoing pursuit. Together with her husband, cinematographer Natanael Cambronero Severin, she runs the production company Craeby Productions.
