Juraj Mráz

BIOGRAPHIE

Born in 1992 in Bratislava, Juraj initially pursued a career in hip- hop dance as the American rap culture influenced his early upbringing. Among his top achievements in dance are two gold medals from the world championship in Hip Hop dance competition IDO in 2015 and 2016. He also performed in many Tv shows in Slovakia and Czech Republic. After his short studies at the Management faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava, he established his own production company in 2015. Utilizing his contacts he managed to shoot commercial projects in various parts of the world (Singapore, NYC, LA, IT,GER…). Regarding his business background, he produced a short movie in the 48hour film competition which was screened in Cannes in 2016. From 2017 to 2022 Juraj Mraz produced and directed music videos for Slovak musicians and singers. In the commercial realm he directed TV commercials and Online commercials for the Czech and Slovak market. In 2021 Juraj moved to the film directing and production, as his creative needs pushed him into more expressive and fulfilling form. He attended one year at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, while he worked as the 1st AD on a bachelor film of Kristian Grupáč- Otváram dvere a neviem čo sa s nimi deje / pomaly vŕzgajú / oči sa dívajú, and on a film of Števka Lovasová. In 2021 he also worked as a Crowd AD on the Slovak production of Jack Ryan. Juraj is now focused on creating original stories and narrative forms in film in order to fulfil his creative ambitions. At the moment he is working on his next short film called The Season.
