Dominik Girod, (born 1997, Mainz, Germany), spent his childhood in the hilly countryside of Rhenish Hesse, a landscape largely devoted to vineyards and enjoying life. As a child, he attended the Landeskunstgymnasium Rheinland Pfalz, a secondary school devoted to teaching all kinds of art forms to young students. From a young age Dominik was very interested in filmmaking and would create little stop motion films by using a small camcorder. He was influenced by the fantastical films of Hayao Miyazaki and the endearing books of Michael Ende. After school Dominik worked in several film and media production companies. At the same time he was learning to play piano and took several courses on musical composition and orchestration, while also being teached to paint and draw. He currently studies animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
