Yvonne Zhang is a British-Chinese writer-director based in Los Angeles and London. Her short CARRION was a CAA MOEBIUS Showcase Official Selection and awarded finalist in the Shore Scripts and Screencraft Film Funds. CARRION received the Alfred P. Sloan Production Award and was executive produced by CAVIAR (The Rider, Sound of Metal). Yvonne completed her MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute where she was awarded the AFI David Geffen Fellowship and was selected as a BAFTA US Scholar for two years running. She was recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship, American Association for University Women Fellowship and P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship. Yvonne was raised by a fiery single mother in a post-industrial district of London made up primarily of immigrant communities. She is interested in creating contemporary folktales for immigrants, using myths and dream worlds to explore identity, belonging and power.
