Lotte van Raalte (1989) is a dutch photographer and director who graduated with a degree in Photography from the Royal Art Academy in The Hague (2012). Even at this early stage - traveling around the world - it was clear that she was fuelled by an attraction to culture and human stories. Today Van Raalte’s personal projects are guided by an interest in womanhood, sustainability and gender equality. Early 2020 she published her first book BODY. A documentation of 46 women both photographed and interviewed in their most vulnerable, honest and authentic form; nude. The work is a strong reflection of Lotte’s stance on female representation. As part of an empowering new wave of awareness, she aspired the images to be seen in the context of current projects challenging previous representations and perceptions surrounding the female body - as a celebration of diversity. The book has been sold all over the world and the photographs have been exhibited in Amsterdam, Stockholm and New York. Recently, Lotte van Raalte developed a fascination for and focus on exploring her subjects through moving image. She deepened her interest in femininity and empowerment, which resulted in her debut film “Guerreras” (2022).
