Leo Bill is an award-winning actor of stage and screen. His screen credits include Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Mike Leigh’s Vera Drake, Mr Turner and Peterloo and Peter Strickland’s In Fabric. Most recently Leo starred alongside Billie Piper in her directorial debut Rare Beasts that premiered in the director’s fortnight at VIFF. His stage credits include starring opposite Sir Simon Russell Beale in The Tragedy of King Richard II and Lydia Wilson in the Duchess of Malfi. He also starred opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in the NT Live production of Hamlet at The Barbican. Having always planned to move into film making, it was first in theatre that he began to make his own work. He has since been developing work with The Yard, Lyric Hammersmith and the National Theatre Studio as a writer and director. Leo is represented by United Artists Ltd as a writer/director and has a number of projects in various stages of development: a feature film titled Ruthless, a dark stop motion animated series called Joan & Nino and a thrilling short film Still Life.
