BIOGRAPHIE

Ghiath Al Mhitawi is a writer, playwright and filmmaker from Damascus, Syria, where he completed his BA in Theatre Studies at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 2011. He is the author of The Final Return, which was performed at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 2015. His second play The Abyss was performed at the 2019 Edinburgh International Festival as part of the International Climate Crisis programme. Since 2019 he has been studying Screenwriting and Dramaturgy in the Master of Arts at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and is involved in several film and television projects as a writer and director.
