BIOGRAPHIE

Renata Lima is an emerging Ireland-based filmmaker who made her Irish debut as a director with the documentary ‘Vonnie - Ireland’s Forgotten Fashion Icon’. The film is an awarded project by ENGINE Docs film scheme (Film in Limerick in partnership with SheffieldDocFest) supporting new talents in the Mid-West of Ireland. The director is currently distributing her film which has ran through multiple Irish festivals to date and received a Jury Special Mention at Docs Ireland festival, in Belfast. Renata Lima’s first film “Where have the picture houses gone?” is a documentary selected in the pitching competition of Brazil’s educational TV channel ‘Canal Futura’. Renata moved to Ireland in 2017 sponsored by the Government of Ireland Scholarship to research Irish film exhibition. She has been involved with the local film industry in different ways including the production of two short films (The Solitary Dolphin and Greyhound Girl) and joining the Viewing Panel of IndieCork Film Festival.
