Antonio La Camera (1990), after graduating in Cinema and Visual Arts with a grade of 110 cum laude at the DAMS of Roma Tre University, attends directing and screenwriting courses at the “Sentieri Selvaggi” film school. He was later admitted to the High Specialization Course in Film Direction “Fare Cinema” directed by Maestro Marco Bellocchio and held by Manetti Bros. His short films “Carne e Polvere,” “Il Sogno del Vecchio” and “Nel Ritrovo del Silenzio” have been screened in over 100 national and international festivals, including the Future Film Festival organized by the British Film Institute. He has won more than 30 awards worldwide, including the Best Director Award given to him by the Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest. In 2022 he was admitted to the exclusive CreatorsLab in which he shot the Italian-Spanish short film “Las Memorias Perdidas de los Árboles” in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest under the supervision of legendary director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, winner of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The short film had its world premiere at the 80. Venice International Film Festival as part of the 38. International Critics’ Week where it won the award as Best Short Film. Subsequently, the short film has been presented at prestigious and qualifiers Academy Awards, EFA and Goya festival as 63. Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias - FICCI, 47. Drama International Short Film Festival, 22. Tirana International Film Festival, 29. Vilnius International Film Festival Kino pavasaris, 35. In 2024, he shot the short film "Primo Sangue", winner of the Ministry of Culture and Calabria Film Commission's production call, and starring Roberta Mattei, a David di Donatello nominated actress. In the same year, his feature film project "Demoni & Polvere" has been selected at the Milano Film Network's InProgress development workshop where it is being developed under the mentorship of director Michelangelo Frammartino, winner of the jury's secial prize at the Venice Film Festival 2021.
