Carmen Molina

BIOGRAPHIE

Carmen Molina (Barcelona 1991) is a director of photography and documentary photographer. After studying a Higher Degree in Image, she specialized with a Postgraduate in Documentary Essay at the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC), where she began her first project "Beats", with a scholarship for the Master in Project Development at the Lens Artes Visuales school in Madrid. Thus, his work begins to be framed within the social and creative documentary, focusing on issues related to subcultures and covert or invisible groups. She started working in the audiovisual industry with Western Productions, first as a production assistant, and later as a photography assistant and second cameraman. Currently, she works as director of photography in the documentaries in progress: "Tarik, Prima Materia" selected for the Pitching Forum of the Festival L'Alternativa 2020 and "Cos i Ciutat" feature film directed by Lorena Ros and produced by Testamento, awarded by the cultural initiative of Barcelona en Comú "La Filadora" and winner of the grant "Art for Change" of Caixa-Bank. He collaborates regularly with entities such as the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, Open Arms or Etnia Barcelona Foundation and has published his work as a photojournalist and other assignments in media such as Der Spiegel, Eldiario.es or Forbes. Last year 2020, she received the Special Mention of the jury in the Young Creators Award of the entity Francesca Bonnemaison for his documentary short film project "Cobertes".
