BIOGRAPHIE

I am Daniela Hernández, I was born in Caracas Venezuela on November 29th of 1993. From a very young age I had a lot of interest in photography, and since my teenage years I began to build my way to cinema without even realizing it. At the age of 17 I moved to Maracaibo, I began to study Chemistry at LUZ University, and at the same time I studied Photography at the JULIO VENGOECHEA School. In 2014, at the age of 20, I emigrated to Santiago de Chile, but already at that time it was clear to me what my dream was: To study Filmmaking and become a Film Director. In 2015 I was selected to study Filmmaking at the UNIVERSIDAD DE CHILE, and I started my career, but this time with the determination that it required. During the 5 years of studying my career I made several short films that became a great learning process: “VOLANTIN” (2015) selected for the FECIM Santa María Festival. “ENTRE AGUAS” in which I was the DOP and it was the winner of the 48HRS FILM FESTIVAL SANTIAGO, winning 6 awards including BEST PHOTOGRAPHY. “PARA USTED” (2016)Short documentary of Archived Footage that got an Honorable Mention in the CORTOS EN GRANDE SANTIAGO Festival, 2020. After a social explosion and a pandemic in between, we made “UNA EVA MÁS” (2020) GRADUATION short film from the UNIVERSIDAD DE CHILE, which meant the end of my career studies and my BACHELOR DEGREE AS A FILM AND TV DIRECTOR. Yo soy Daniela Hernández, nací en Caracas, Venezuela el 29 de Noviembre de 1993. Desde muy pequeña tuve mucho interés en la fotografía, y desde mi adolescencia empecé construir mi camino hacia el cine casi sin saberlo. A los 17 años me mudé a Maracaibo, comencé a estudiar Química Pura en LUZ, y de manera paralela estudié Fotografía en la Escuela JULIO VENGOECHA. En 2014, con 20 años, emigré a Santiago de Chile pero ya en ese momento tenía muy claro mi sueño: Estudiar Cine y convertirme en Directora de Cine. En 2015, comencé a estudiar Cine en La Universidad de Chile, Y comencé mi carrera, pero ahora sí, con la determinación que ello significaba. Durante los 5 años de estudio de la carrera realice varios cortometrajes que significaron grandes aprendizajes: “VOLANTIN” (2016) Selección Festival FECIM Santa María. “ENTRE AGUAS” en este hice de DOP y quedó Ganador de 48HRS FILM FESTIVAL SANTIAGO, con 6 premios entre ellos MEJOR FOTOGRAFÍA. “PARA USTED” (2016) Corto Documental de Material de Archivo con Mención Honorifica Festival CORTOS EN GRANDE SANTIAGO 2020. Después de un estallido social y una pandemia entre medio, realizamos “UNA EVA MÁS” (2022) cortometraje de EGRESO de la UNIVERSIDAD DE CHILE, que significó la finalización de la carrera y mi título de LICENCIADA Y REALIZADORA DE CINE Y TV.
