Director’s Biography: Andrei Stoian grew up in Brăila, Romania, and moved to Bucharest at the age of 11, where he studied film editing at the National University of Film and Theatre. He edited many student short films, some of which reciving awards at international student film festivals. In 2018 he recived the “Best editing for Romanian film” award at Cinemaiubit Film Festival. Although he started writing and directing shorts while being a student, “The Usual Story of Aurel Lacroix” is the first film to be done outside the faculty. He is taking inspiration for his films from his childhood experiences, everyday life and the questions he is asking himself about the world.
