Adrian Duncan

BIOGRAPHIE

Adrian Duncan is an artist and award-winning writer based in Ireland and Berlin. In 2018 Duncan and Feargal Ward showed Memory Room at IDFA Amsterdam. In 2019 they co-directed a music video for Joy Division's Day of the Lords as part of the Unknown Pleasures Reimagined project. In 2020 his and Ward's film Tension Structures received its North American premier at Hot Docs, Toronto. His debut novel Love Notes from a German Building Site was published by The Lilliput Press and Head of Zeus in 2019. It won the 2019 John McGahern Book Prize. In 2020 he was shortlisted for the Dalkey Literary Awards Emerging Writer. Duncan's second novel A Sabbatical in Leipzig was published in 2020 and shortlisted for the Kerry Novel of the Year Award. His collection of short stories Midfield Dynamo was published in 2021 and was long listed for the Edge Hill Prize. His next novel The Geometer Lobachevsky will appear with The Lilliput Press and Tuskar Rock Press in 2022. His fourth film Lowland (25' dir with Feargal Ward) will screen at Cork International Film Festival, 2022.
