Pengwei Wang

BIOGRAPHIE

Pengwei Wang was born in Changsha, grew up in Shenzhen and has lived in China and Canada since childhood. He graduated from the University of California and Chapman University. He has spent many years traveling through different cultures and trends of thought. His cinematic works show his passion about expressing the madness of collisions, always focusing on the unique individuals he has encountered in life. His short film “A Young Tough” has been selected for the Clermont-Ferrand, Cinequest, Cleveland, Rhode Island International Film Festival among many others. “Weirdo” is his latest experimental work, shot in Shenzhen, an extremely prosperous international city with marginalized people living in unknown gutters.
