Marcela Ascencio is an audiovisual communicator, documentary filmmaker and cultural manager. She has taken part in biographical, historical and social content projects as a researcher, producer, editor, scriptwriter and director. She wrote and directed the first stage of the interactive project "Colombianas, a collective biography" (colombianas.org), her most outstanding work. Born in Colombia, she has lived in France and Brazil, before Spain where she’s currently based. Salym Fayad is a Colombian reporter and cultural manager based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has worked extensively in different regions of sub-Saharan Africa covering issues related to popular culture and music, migration, conflict and human rights. He is co-founder and co-director of the Wallay African Film Festival in Barcelona. Both participated in 2014 in the Otro Sur Foundation, an independent organization that promotes cultural exchange between Africa and Latin America and in the direction of the MUICA (African Film Festival in Colombia), initiatives to which Salym continues to be linked. They have also collaborated in the production of audiovisual pieces, including the short film Dissonance. Neighbours is their most recent creative collaboration.
