BIOGRAPHIE

Mistaya Hemingway is a freelance dancer, filmmaker and choreographer living in Montreal. She has danced with the Dutch National Ballet, Alberta Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and was a soloist with La La La Human Steps for seven years. Mistaya also studied acting in New York City, and earned a degree in urban planning. In the last few years, Mistaya has been exploring the film form, collaborating on mixed media projects (Moment Factory, PY1, 4U2C, MAPP_MTL), and creating work in the public space (Do it in the Road, Sidewalk, Trackdance, Espace libre pour la culture). She has also created visuals for Justin Timberlake , Patrick Watson, Islands and Karneef. Mistaya is directing and producing her own screendance projects (At Lake, Tampopo Redux, Naïade) and is currently developing an immersive dance/architecture mixed reality installation. Forward Back is Mistaya's first collaboration with director, Kaveh Nabatian. --- Mistaya Hemingway est une danseuse, cinéaste et chorégraphe indépendante qui vit à Montréal. Elle a dansé avec le Dutch National Ballet, l'Alberta Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago et a été soliste avec La La La Human Steps pendant sept ans. Mistaya a également étudié l'art dramatique à New York et obtenu un diplôme en urbanisme. Ces dernières années, Mistaya a exploré la forme cinématographique, collaboré à des projets de médias mixtes (Moment Factory, PY1, 4U2C, MAPP_MTL) et créé des œuvres dans l'espace public (Do it in the Road, Sidewalk, Trackdance, Espace libre pour la culture). Elle a également créé des visuels pour Justin Timberlake, Patrick Watson, Islands et Karneef. Mistaya réalise et produit ses propres projets de screendance (At Lake, Tampopo Redux, Naïade) et développe actuellement une installation immersive de réalité mixte danse/architecture. Forward Back est la première collaboration de Mistaya avec le réalisateur Kaveh Nabatian.
