amie Yuan is a British Chinese filmmaker based in London. He graduated with a BA in Classics from King’s College London. In 2016 he joined Revolution Films and worked with director Michael Winterbottom in production of the of The Trip to Spain. In 2018 he edited a documentary called ‘Testimonies of A Massacre’, which premiered at Sheffield Doc Fest. Jamie made his directorial debut with his documentary UNDERDOGS (2021). The film won ‘Best Short’ at the London Independent Film Festival, as well as ‘Critics Choice’ at FIFF London Awards. In June 2022 the film was selected for the BAFTA qualifying Bolton International Film Festival. Jamie directed his second documentary, MAN DOWN (2022), about mental health in the music industry. The film was shown and discussed on the BBC Points West programme, and articles about the film featured in the magazine NME. In May 2023 the film was broadcast on Together TV and featured as ‘Pick of the Day’ in the Sun TV Guide. In other work, Jamie has directed live music videos and promos for Grammy nominated musicians such as Rag’n’Bone Man, KT Tunstall and Turner Prize winner Wolfgang Tillmans. He recently completed his narrative debut PABLO HONEY! (2023), which is due for release in June. His work is informed his cross-cultural upbringing. His mission is to tell naturalistic, human stories which articulate the inherent discovery within his filmmaking process.
